Join us for a 4 day, 5 day or 7 day Base Camp Kayak Trip and Adventure in this spectacular remote west coast setting. We introduce you to this home of the fascinating sea otter and the traditional territory of the Ka:'yu:'k't'h' (Kyuquot) First Nations people. Whether new to kayaking or a seasoned paddler, the options are plentiful. Most of our guests return - often several times - eagerly anticipating the diverse kayak day-tripping destinations from our ideally situated base camp on Spring Island. Compared with expedition paddling, our established camp allows more time to relax and explore each day, and makes night times more luxurious (particularly by camping standards!).

We use a mixed fleet of single and double kayaks to access serene and spectacular beaches, estuaries, islets, sea otter viewing opportunities, tide pools, geologic curiosities, dramatic shorelines, and enchanting old-growth forest walks.

“...the facilities of the camp were perfect, incorporating all the beauty of the land and sea in every aspect (even the outhouses!), and providing a level of comfort beyond any outdoor experience I have ever had – what fantastic meals, a hot shower, chocolate, and more! But all of this was possible because of the staff and others behind the scenes. This is an extraordinary place to spend a quiet week with good friends and good company.”
